It does this by mirroring tropes used by many dating games, this can be seen in the 'Content Analysis' section where DDLC ticked off all the generic tropes, from childhood sweetheart all the way to the slice of life scenes. DDLC has a very specific target audience, it does everything in its power to attract insecure/asocial teenagers.
